Winterize your home and cut utility costs while saving energy.

Energy Efficient Tips for Your Home:

1. Change furnace filters as recommended or install a permanent one.
2. In winter - run ceiling fans in reverse, to push warm air down.
3. Drain any hoses or air conditioner pipes.
4. Turn down your water heater.
5. Also, you can install a tankless water heater for maximum efficiency.
6. Install new storm doors and windows.
7. Give your heating system a tune-up.
8. Have a programmable thermostat installed.
9. If you can’t replace windows, put up plastic with a window insulation kit.
10. Use an energy monitor.
11. Caulk and weather-strip – EVERYTHING.
12. Put on a sweater.  Then turn down the thermostat a few degrees.
13. Boost insulation in the attic and walls.
14. Have an attic fan installed to reduce cooling bills – go solar here.
15. Insulate your pipes.
16. Seal the ducts.  
17. Close heat vents and doors in rooms not used.
18. Take advantage of tax credits (see links above)

20. Upgrade to an efficient furnace.
